The team
From luxurious castles to ruin bars

The trip was supposed to be for three, and after many problems with the weather, only two of us could go. Although we missed her, we really enjoyed it :D

An incredible city — it was very cold, so eating well was a must; visiting the thermal baths was also obligatory.

The Parliament

Spectacular neo-Gothic building, impressive from every angle. On the eastern side of the Danube River you’ll also find the park, Vajdahunyad Castle and the Széchenyi Thermal Baths.

St. Stephen’s Basilica

Also on the east side of the river, this beautiful basilica and the Hungarian State Opera House both share a neoclassical style. You can climb up to the basilica’s viewpoint for panoramic views.

The Great Synagogue

This luxurious Moorish-style synagogue is the largest in Europe and the second largest in the world (after New York’s). With meticulous details and exquisite ornamentation, it’s a true marvel.

Fisherman’s Bastion

On the west side of the Danube lies the Buda area, and at the top of the hill stands this neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque terrace and viewpoint. Here you’ll also find the castle, the cathedral, and even a wartime underground hospital.
